Maintenance Mechanic Supervisor

Description:

This position is part of the Southwestern Indian Polytechnic Institute (SIPI), Bureau of Indian Education (BIE), Department of the Interior (DOI). As a Maintenance Mechanic Supervisor you will be responsible for supervising and coordinating the execution of maintenance, repairs, improvements, quality control and safety including health and environmental safety for all campus buildings.

Requirements:

Applicants will be rated in accordance with the OPM Federal Wage System Qualifications . For this position, the job element method is used to match what the applicant can do against what the work calls for. The knowledge, skills, and abilities of applicants are compared with the knowledge, skills, and abilities (called job elements) needed for success. If applicants have the ability to do the work, they are considered eligible for the job. Maintenance Worker Supervisors must be able to lead other workers or supervise subordinates, to deal objectively and harmoniously with others, and to render sound decisions. This position involves working independently in a wide range of maintenance activities, ensure maintenance and/or facility operations are carried out in accordance with appropriate policies and procedures and supervising maintenance department employees.
