Description:
This position is located within the National Nuclear Security Administration (NNSA), Office of Secure Transportation (OST), Office of Mission Operations (OMO), Agent Operations Western Command (AOWC) in Albuquerque, NM. A successful candidate in this position will lead a team of highly specialized protective forces, responsible for the safe and secure transportation of classified and/or hazardous nuclear materials.Requirements:
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
A qualified candidate's online application and resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent in responsibility and scope to the NV-03 pay band or GS-12 level. Qualifying specialized experience for this position includes: Experience functioning as a Convoy Commander (Lead Courier) or Recovery Team Leader.
Examples of Specialized Experience:
- Leading a team of Courier personnel in the safe and secure transportation of hazardous nuclear weapons, nuclear weapon components, and/or special nuclear material.
- Developing and executing operational, security, and tactical plans for assigned convoys.
- Identifying and obtaining resources needed to accomplish mission operations.
- Directing and coordinating the work of agents while on mission operations.
- Demonstrated skill in security planning.
- Conducting or overseeing threat assessments of potential hostilities.

Examples of qualifying unpaid experience may include: volunteer work done through National Service programs (such as Peace Corps and AmeriCorps); as well as work for other community-based philanthropic and social organizations. Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills; and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.
