Description:

This position is located within the National Nuclear Security Administration (NNSA), Office of Secure Transportation (OST), Office of Mission Operations (OMO), Agent Operations Western Command (AOWC) in Albuquerque, NM. A successful candidate in this position will lead a team of highly specialized protective forces, responsible for the safe and secure transportation of classified and/or hazardous nuclear materials.

Requirements:

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

A qualified candidate's online application and resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent in responsibility and scope to the NV-03 pay band or GS-12 level. Qualifying specialized experience for this position includes: Experience functioning as a Convoy Commander (Lead Courier) or Recovery Team Leader.

Examples of Specialized Experience:

  • Leading a team of Courier personnel in the safe and secure transportation of hazardous nuclear weapons, nuclear weapon components, and/or special nuclear material.
  • Developing and executing operational, security, and tactical plans for assigned convoys.
  • Identifying and obtaining resources needed to accomplish mission operations.
  • Directing and coordinating the work of agents while on mission operations.
  • Demonstrated skill in security planning.
  • Conducting or overseeing threat assessments of potential hostilities.

Examples of qualifying unpaid experience may include: volunteer work done through National Service programs (such as Peace Corps and AmeriCorps); as well as work for other community-based philanthropic and social organizations. Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills; and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

CTAP/ICTAP candidates: To be considered "well qualified" you must meet all of the requirements as described in this section. If you are eligible for career transition assistance plans such as ICTAP or CTAP, you must meet the definition of "well qualified" which is defined as having a score of 85 or better.
