General Engineer/ Physical Scientist

This position as a General Engineer/ Physical Scientist is part of the National Nuclear Security Administration (NNSA), Office of Transportation (OST), Office of Technical Services (OST). This is a great opportunity for a General Engineer/ Physical Scientist, and Senior Program Manager to provide technical leadership and be responsible for all programmatic direction and oversight of sophisticated and technologically advanced works between various NNSA's national laboratories and plants.

Requirements:

A qualified candidate's online application and resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower NNSA pay band level or GS grade level in the Federal Service, i.e., NN-03 or GS-13. Specialized experience for this position is defined as: Experience in the application of advance program management principles, practices and techniques associated with the design of new and emerging technology development, production, and lifecycle phases related to Capital Acquisition Management or an equivalent program standard.

Examples of Qualified Experience:

• Program/Project Planning and Management of major acquisitions systems, drafting System Engineering Plans (SEP), Interface and requirements management, Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) Conceptual design for new and emerging technologies, systems engineering, control systems, emerging technology development, production, lifecycle phases, and developing program schedules/resource requirement.
• Establishing and tracking performance against technical milestones, recommending approval, disapproval, or modifications to project milestones, and assessing technology readiness levels of Critical Technology Elements (CTEs).
