Description:

This position is part of the NNSA - Office of Secure Transportation, Department of Energy. A successful candidate in this position will serve as Supervisory Transportation Specialist (Secondary), you will serve as the OD Director, responsible all OST operational transportation and traffic management programs, and direct operational support programs for the NNSA/OST Nuclear Material Couriers are consolidated within the Division.

Requirements:

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

A qualified candidate's online application and resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower NNSA Demonstration Project pay band or GS grade level in the Federal service, i.e., NQ-03 or GS-14. Specialized experience for this position is defined as: comprehensive knowledge of the OST mission to develop and implement policy, effectively analyze, and resolve critical transportation problems, and provide agency and/or interagency coordination involving OST transportation activities. This is a secondary position which must include experience as a Nuclear Materials Courier that demonstrates in-depth knowledge of the Transportation Safeguards System (TSS).

Examples of Specialized Experience:

  • Experience supervising and directing Transportation Safeguards System (TSS) operations.
  • Experience managing large groups of employees and directing TSS operations.
  • Experience developing, implementing, and managing policy related to transportation program activities.
  • Directing, initiating, and implementing operational and training programs relative to the TSS.
  • Experience providing guidance and solutions related to transportation program issues.
